I have laughed with you and cried with you (Christie Crawford don't make fun of me) I have been challenged by you and inspired by you. I have prayed with you and listened to you and celebrated the sacraments with you. I hope I have had a positive place in some of your lives and I ask.... no I beg your forgiveness if I have let any of you down in anyway... Please forgive me if there was distance between us and I was inadvertently the cause... Have mercy on me a sinner.
I want to say goodbye to so many but sometimes there just doesn't seem enough of me to go around. Class of 2007 I wish you the very best and keep in touch.
Fr. O'Connell used this poem in his address to the graduating Nursing students I need to read it every day...
DO IT ANYWAY
Written By Mother Theresa
People are often unreasonable, illogical,
and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, People may accuse you
of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some
false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank,
people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone
could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness,
they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough
Give your best anyway.
